Why Minnetrista Homeowners Choose ByeBye Stumps

Minnetrista sits on the far western shoreline of Lake Minnetonka, a quieter and larger-lot side of the lake than the eastern Wayzata-Excelsior corridor. The lots here run from one acre to ten-plus, with mature oak, ash, and basswood that have been on the property for decades. When one comes down, the stump that's left is rarely a small one.

Lakeshore work is different from inland work. Equipment access has to be planned around dock paths, retaining walls, septic mounds, and shoreline ordinances. We've been doing waterfront stump work on Minnetonka, Halsteds Bay, Six Mile Lake, and Whaletail Lake for years, and we carry the insurance and the equipment sizing to handle those jobs without tearing up a shoreline lawn.

  • Serving Minnetrista and the western Twin Cities since 2016
  • Photo pricing, no deposits, paid only when the work is done
  • Compact equipment that narrows to about 36 inches for tight gate access

What We Grind in Minnetrista

Oak, ash and basswood are the three we see most, and they behave differently under the machine. Bur oak on these lots can be two hundred years old with a root flare far wider than the trunk suggests, so the ground area we have to clear is bigger than most people picture. Ash is the volume work, still coming down from emerald ash borer. Basswood is the softest of the three and grinds quickly. When you send a photo, include something for scale next to the stump. On acre-plus lots the size is consistently underestimated, and it is the single thing that changes a quote most.

  • Lakeshore properties on the western Minnetonka shoreline, including Halsteds Bay and Six Mile Lake
  • Large rural-residential lots, multi-stump cleanups after tree-removal work
  • Mature oak and ash stumps, often 20+ inches diameter
  • Properties on Whaletail Lake and the smaller western lakes
  • Hobby-acreage cleanups, properties of 5 to 10 acres with years of accumulated tree turnover

Lakeshore Work, Planned for the Lot

Lakeshore properties are a different kind of job. Tree counts on Minnetrista lots are higher than they look from the road, equipment routing has to account for dock paths and retaining walls, and the cleanup needs to leave nothing washing toward the waterline. We carry the insurance and the equipment sizing for waterfront work, and we route everything carefully when we're on-site so the work runs cleaner than typical inland jobs.

Winter Work on Large Lots

Frozen ground is an advantage on a property like this. From January through about mid-March the machine can cross turf and soft low ground that we would otherwise have to route around or mat, which means less surface disturbance and often a cheaper job because the setup is simpler. If you have a stump in a spot that is wet most of the year, or one that would mean crossing a lawn you care about, winter is the right time to call about it. Grinding stumps set in rock, debris haul-away and soil installation are limited in the coldest months.

Common Questions from Minnetrista Customers

Can you work on a lakeshore lot without damaging the lawn or shoreline?

Yes. We lay plywood mats on softer turf when needed, and we make every effort not to disturb the area surrounding the stump or introduce debris into the lake.

Do you handle multi-stump jobs after a removal crew has been out?

That's a big share of what we do in Minnetrista. Often the tree service does the takedown and we follow to remove the stumps. We coordinate with most of the local arborist crews and can usually be on-site within a week of a removal.

What about properties past the city line, on the township roads?

We service the full Minnetrista city footprint plus the rural-residential properties on the township-road network. If you're inside the 55364 or 55375 ZIPs, you're in our service area.

Get Pricing on Your Minnetrista Stumps

Send a photo with something next to the stump for scale, and tell us roughly where on the property it sits and what the access looks like. That is enough for us to price it. Please mention if it is close to the water or behind a retaining wall. Call or text 763-258-7200.
